The Age of the Artist

Surely we all still remember the disdain people had when you told them you want to study art. Actually it is still happening today, common consensus is that you won't be able to earn any money with that sort of qualification behind your name.

How beautifully ironic that we have entered an era where 'CREATIVITY IS THE NEW CURRENCY'.

With a school system that is stuck in the Industrial Age, focusing on processing and linear thinking, we are not equipped to be pioneering this new era unless you were fortunate enough to have studied in the fields of the arts and design.

Computer processors work multiple times faster than the capacity of the human brain and most jobs we know today will vanish quicker than the schools realize their shortcomings.

This is also because it is not only the processing speed of our technology that have reached unlimited potential, it is also the technological tools that we are exposed to, that puts the Creative in the pound seats so to speak.

Never before has it been so easy for an individual to produce and market their creative skills; we see with software enabling Musicians to record their own song and market it online, software that enable Designers to design and manufacture their own products with 3D printing and Writers that earn a living writing blogs.

The opportunities are everywhere, and the gatekeepers that once controlled the content that was made available to the public, is forever gone.

If you can think it, you can now, literally MAKE it!

We need to allow ourselves to remain detached from our limited perspectives and allow the every changing reality of CONSTANT CHANGE remake us all into the citizens of the future.

Bonn-voyage on this beautiful journey my fellow earthlings.
